    SQL 2005 Guru needed.

We are having issues with simple queries timing out and have been unable to locate the problem.  We are search for a SQL contractor/guru to come in and assist us in trouble shooting these issues.

If you are interested please PM me with contact details.

    Thank You,

    Re: SQL 2005 Guru needed.

These two articles help me track down a similar issue in my software (C# .NET 2.0 with SQL 2005).

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927396

     http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2005/tsprfprb.mspx

Also, I would highly recommend running profiles on your SQL database regularly because it will also help you to optimize your queries. That along with the Ants Profiler from RedGate software (http://www.red-gate.com/) profiling our software down to the line number helped.

The biggest suggestion that I can give you is to STOP using ad-hoc queries and parameterize everything (especially if you will ever be approaching an enterprise level app). I saw similar results to this article (http://www.codeproject.com/KB/database/ParameterizingAdHocSQL.aspx) in my Windows app.

We spent about 3 months of our development cycle just doing performance testing and optimization. Those techniques above work great.

Feel free to contact me with questions!
