    Background

    Our client develops custom software for use within their environment utilizing .Net 3.5.  They have developed numerous database and barcoding applications.  Their project schedule has become constrained and they require assistance in implementation of a new source code control system which has been purchased, Team Foundation Server 2007.

     

    The client shall be using Visual Studio 2008 professional and Visual Studio Team Suite to develop software.  Currently this software is stored in Visual Source Safe for versioning and disaster recovery. 

    The client also requests assistance in implementing Team Foundation Server and is also working to implement Team Foundation Server 2007 from Visual Source Safe on these projects as well

    Scope

    The client requests assistance in implementation of Team Foundation Server 2007. 

    Application Programming:

    Develop a way to communicate documents residing in TFS to existing SharePoint sites. Provide recommendations for Software development change control process recommendations both in Agile development with SCRUM teams and with individual developers utilizing Waterfall methodology.

    Database:

    Create TFS databases on SQL Server 2005 and write TFS database disaster recovery plan.

    Installation:

    Assist in implementation of TFS, VS 2008 Pro, and VS 2008 Team Suite, and developers using TFS for source code.  Assist in setting up MS Agile templates utilizing SCRUM development mythology.  Mentor team in utilizing templates. Assist with implementation of MS Build for ASPX applications and provide recommendations for automation of software build process.

     

    Technical Requirements

     

    1. Greater than 100% of the work to be performed onsite at the client in NM.
    2. All developed work and work products shall be the property of the client.
    3. Work to be completed by 8/30/08.
    4. Contractor is to have experience implementing Team Foundation Server 2007 and migration of source code repositories off Visual Source Safe to Team Foundation Server
    5. Contractor is to have experience implementing and proving process guidance in developing .Net applications with both Waterfall and Agile software development with Scrum methodologies.
    6. Contractor should have a understanding of MS Build and other automated build processes.
    7. Contractor is to understand how to implement Team Foundation Server with different Visual Studio Editions: Professional, Team Suites, Developer, etc.
    8. Expected is duration is up to 3 weeks
    9. Contractor should be comfortable Mentoring developers with a wide range of experience and knowledge.

    Deliverables

     

    Implementation of Team Foundation Server 2007 and migration of Visual Source Safe version control to Team Foundation Server 2007

     

    Installation of MS Agile TFS templates utilizing Scrum.

     

    Mentoring of developers with different versions of Visual Studio 2008 on Source code control with TFS
