Scott will create a sample application using the new XML data type that will store the serialized state of an object. The application uses both indexes and shredding based on the XML with pitfalls and best practices shown (at least the ones he has discovered). Scott will also give a comparison of how it used to be done and how it is easier to do now. A discussion on how to install the assemblies, reference the stored procedures in SQL Server that were written in C# will also take place.
