Come join us for a complete journey through CSS (Cascading Style Sheets): from beginner to expert. We'll begin from zero, assuming no knowledge of CSS, and maybe a basic HTML 4 knowledge. We'll explore using CSS to style fonts and colors, explore the box model, and discuss some basic layout.
We'll discuss getting out of quirks modes, DOCTYPE implications, and browser compatibility. If you do nothing more with CSS than this, you'll see that it can completely revolutionize your web development methodology.
After the break, we'll look at more advanced CSS techniques. We'll talk about various standard web layouts, techniques for positioning items, menus, roll-overs, headers, footers, centering, and hacking around stupid browsers.
We'll argue quite a bit on the table tag, and how you can write web sites with only 'div' and 'a' tags. We'll also dive into the ASP.NET CSS Control Adapter plug-in, currently at Beta 3.
If you have some tough CSS problem you're trying to solve, bring a link, and we'll run it through the paces. We'll also highlight some great CSS resources to try when you just can't get it solved.
